About the Team £º
The System Integration team is part of the Product Delivery department and is responsible for engineering the Build and Integration of functionality into Symbian's product, both for internal use and for delivery to Symbian's customers.
This is an opportunity to help shape the future of how Symbian integrates functionality across our global sites and contribute to the realisation of our Global Integration Strategy.

Key Job Responsibilities £º
You will be involved in many aspects of how Symbian OS is integrated, built and delivered, including:
* Analysing System Build issues, raising defects and, working with development teams, ensuring their prompt resolution.
* Execution, delivery and storage of builds for all the OS releases
* Development of the Symbian Build System and related tools.
* Identifying improvements to methods and processes and driving their implementation.
* Working with Integration Engineers to resolve System Build issues and develop new methods of building and integrating codelines.
* Providing technical consultancy to development teams on build related matters
* Building good direct working relationships with development and test engineers across the company

...contributing to the development and implementation of the System Build Roadmap and Global Integration Strategy to ensure we can meet future demands of integrating and delivering more and more features into new phones.
...maintaining and developing the System Build Park infrastructure, tools and processes to ensure builds are available quickly and dependably to allow development work to continue uninterrupted.
...ensuring development teams have speedy access to any historical builds they need to allow them to turn around customer raised defects fast and thus not delay the shipping schedules of new phones.

Essential £º
Qualifications
Bachelors/ Masters Degree in an Engineering related discipline.

Experience £º
* 2+ years of commercial experience
* Building and integrating large complex software systems
* Software Configuration Management tools and processes

Skills £º
* Programming in a scripting language such as Perl, Python or Shell
* Spoken and written English

* Proactive; have a "can-do" approach; innovative
* Ability to multi task and work under pressure when needed to meet tight timescales

Desirable £º
Experience
* Knowledge of Symbian OS or similar technology
* Working within an organisation with accredited quality procedures (ISO9000, CMM etc.)
* Windows and Unix/Linux platforms
* Build systems (e.g. ANT, make.)
